As squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail in Odisha coast and north Bay of Bengal and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal, the fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea till June 14, 2021.

A Low Pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Odisha is most likely to trigger torrential rain in most parts of the State from today. The weather condition would continue till June 14, according to a forecast by the IMD.
The Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Odisha, the Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD informed today. The monsoon season which generally marks its presence around June 10 every year has made onset in its usual time.
As IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha in the coming days, Odisha SRC has released precautionary measures may be taken to prevent any damage to life and property during the period
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over the districts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur.
Large parts of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad witnessed heavy rain, inundating several low-lying areas, barely a fortnight after the city survived the Cyclone Tauktae devastation.
A Low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and its adjoining area by June 11.

The low-pressure area will develop into a depression on June 12 with the central pressure of the system estimated at around 988 millibars. Another low pressure likely to form near the Odisha coast between June 27-July4
Ahead of the monsoon onset, several parts of Odisha will experience rain and thunderstorm activities in the next couple of days. IMD has also issued heavy rainfall alert for several parts of the State.
Under its impact, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are going to record heavy downpour in the range of 8-12 mm/hour at midnight hours on June 12. The wind speed in the early morning hours on June 13 likely to be 37-55 kmph
