As many as five NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams from Odisha have left for Gujarat to join the post-cyclone rescue and relief operation as the cyclone ‘Tauktae’ which is strengthening its base further over Arabian Sea is very likely to hit Gujarat coast in the form of very severe cyclonic storm on Tuesday.
"This year, the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala is likely to be on 31st May with a model error of plus/minus 4 days."

The fishermen have been advised to touch base at the nearest coast and the department has already coordinated with these coastal belts of various state governments to accommodate the fishermen who reach their shores.
The Meteorological Centre of the IMD here today has issued Orange Warning with forecast for moderate to severe thunderstorms in the Twin Cities. This apart, the forecast has also issued storm and rainfall alert for some other districts of the State.

Hailstorm, rain, and thunder lashed Puruna Cuttack area under Harbhanga block in the district reportedly causing widespread damage to vegetation and houses in the region.
