Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm related activities are expected to continue in several parts of Odisha for next two days. 

According to the weather department forecast, moderate to heavy rains accompanied by hailstorms is expected to occur at isolated places during the days.

Thunderstorm, lightning with gusty surface winds reaching up to 40 km/h is also expected to take place at many places across the State.

Mild to moderate rain is expected at several places in coastal Odisha and other districts including Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar Mayurbhanuj, Deogarh, Angul Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput districts, Bhubaneswar regional meteorological director HR Biswas said.

The intensity of the thunderstorm activity is expected to decrease after May 11-12, Biswas added.

The met department has issued yellow warning for some particular districts.

With a thunderstorm alert, yellow warning has been issued to the districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, ,Nayagarh, he added.

Thunderstorm activities are occurring in Odisha due to heating during daytime, availability of moisture, weather department sources said.

There will no large change in the mercury level in the State during next three days.
