As per a bulletin issued by the IMD's Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, monsoon has withdrawn from Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur , Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Nuapada, Boudh, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts in the State.
Southwest monsoon gripped almost entire Odisha as it advanced further into the state, setting off heavy showers in many areas its is expected to pour even more due to the low pressure generated in northwest Bay of Bengal. The Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Odisha, the Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD informed today. The monsoon season which generally marks its presence around June 10 every year has made onset in its usual time.
The Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over southern parts of Kerala. The normal onset date for Southwest Monsoon over Kerala is June 1, said IMD Director General Mrutunjay Mohapatra.
