Bhubanswar: The southwest monsoon today covered the whole of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a release.

As per the release, the monsoon had covered the whole of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts and some parts of the adjoining of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts yesterday.

Today it covered the entire area of Angul, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Bargarh and Balangir districts and the remaining parts of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.

There would be heavy rainfall at one or two places in interior Odisha in the next 24 hours while rainfall will continue in most parts of the state for the next five days, the release added.
