Youth’s body with stone tied around neck found in Odisha’s Sundargarh; murder alleged  

A youth’s body with a stone tied around its neck was found lying under a bridge at Jamuna Dhipa under Brahmani Tarang Police limits in Sundargarh district on Thursday. 

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. 

As per reports, local residents first spotted the body lying under the bridge. Close inspection revealed that a stone was tied around his neck. It is suspected the youth was killed somewhere and before the body was thrown into water, a stone was tied around its neck to prevent it from floating.

On being informed, a team from Brahmani Tarang Police Station reached the spot. Later, a scientific team and dog squad also arrived. 
The police with the help of Fire Services personnel recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. 

Meanwhile, the police have circulated the photographs of the deceased in the nearby police stations to ascertain his identity. 

“This morning, we were informed that a body was spotted near Sankha bridge under Brahmani Tarang Police limits. A police team rushed to the spot. I have also directed a scientific team and dog squad to carry out their investigations. The deceased’s identity is yet to be established. We have circulated his photographs to nearby police stations. We hope we will soon have some leads to crack the case,” said Brijesh Ray, Rourkela SP.
