The Low Pressure area formed over west-central Bay of Bengal intensified into a well-marked system over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and north Andhra Pradesh south Odisha coasts on Tuesday
The low pressure system has developed under the influence of a cyclonic circulation and is likely to move west-northwest wards during the next two to three days.
Heavy rainfall, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of the State till September 8, 2021
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea of west-central adjoining north Bay of Bengal off south Odisha coast during these two days, said the SRC.

As per IMD, several districts in Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning activity in the next 24 hours. A Yellow Warning has been sounded for the districts.

IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Thursday said that Odisha is likely to receive good amount of rains in the month of September
The IMD has also sounded a yellow warning for the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhyanj, Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
IMD has also predicted rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Ganjam and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur in some places in southern and coastal belt of the State in the next 24 hours.
The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas. However, the eastern end of the monsoon trough now passes through Bahraich, Patna,Giridih, Digha and thence southeastwards to North Bay of Bengal, IMD said in a release.
The alert has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal and Rayagada.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordhaa, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore in the next 24 hours.
