After a dry spell, Odisha is all set to witness rainfall activity from the first week of September, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall activity between September 3 and 5.

The IMD has also sounded a yellow warning for the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhyanj, Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.

“The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Sagar, Pendra Road, Gopalpur and thence south-eastwards to East-central Bay of Bengal,” said IMD.

Day 1 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.09.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2021)

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in several parts of the State.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
