  • The weather bureau has also predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of the State between August 28 and 29, 2021.

Even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday ruled out the formation of any signification system that would trigger wide-spread rainfall in Odisha till the end of this month, the State will however, continue to experience isolated thunderstorm and lightning activities during that period.

As per the latest weather bulletin, the IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore in the next 24 hours.

The weather bureau has also predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of the State between August 28 and 29, 2021.

 

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 24.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 25.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 26.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 27.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Kandhamal.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 28.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Cuttack.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 29.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj.
