  • As per IMD, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The Low Pressure area over North-west adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha north Andhra Pradesh coasts persists. However, the associated cyclonic circulation now extends upto 4.5 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.

As per IMD, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. The heavy rainfall alert has been sounded for the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada.

IMD has also predicted rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Ganjam and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 29.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 30.08.2021)

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 31.08.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 01.09.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
