Heavy Rain In Odisha Till Aug 29; IMD Alert For Thunderstorm, Lightning In Next 24 Hrs

 As many as 18 districts in Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm and lightning activities in the next 24 hours, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

The alert has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

IMD has also issued heavy rainfall warning for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara in the next 24 hours.

Day 1 (valid from1330 hrs IST of 26.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 27.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 28.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Dhenkanal.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, Boudh, Angul, Bolangir and Cuttack.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 29.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Bargarh and Sundargarh.
