As per IMD, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha for the next two days.
The people of Odisha are now closely monitoring the weather updates as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted formation of another low pressure area around August 13, 2022.
The well-marked low pressure area over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast is likely to concentrate into a depression, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the rainfall activities are likely to continue for the next 4-5 days in the State.
An ‘Orange Warning’ for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati in the next 24 hours.
Despite the weakening of the system, several parts of Odisha are experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall under the influence of the deep depression.
