Cyclonic circulation update: IMD predicts heavy rainfall in these Odisha districts

The cyclonic circulation over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood persists and now extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

Light to moderate rain / thundershower has occurred at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha in the past 24 hours. Similarly, heavy rainfall has also occured at one place over the district of Gajapati as well.

As per IMD, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha for the next two days.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri ,Koraput ,Rayagada ,Kandhamal ,Kalahandi ,Sundargarh ,Keonjhar ,Mayurbhanj.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 HRS IST of 27.09.2022 up to 0830 HRS IST of 28.09.2022)

Yellow Warning : Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.09.2022)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.09.2022)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Malkangiri ,Koraput ,Rayagada ,Nawarangpur ,Kalahandi ,Kandhamal ,Mayurbhanj .

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati ,Rayagada ,Koraput .
