A miserable situation was witnessed on Tuesday at the Balasore district headquarters hospital after it plunged into complete darkness allegedly for an hour. 

As per reports, while the town was sizzling at 46 Degrees Celsius, the power supply was allegedly disrupted from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm at the emergency ward of the DHH. 

Patients had a nightmarish experience amid sultry conditions as all fans, ACs and other cooling systems did not function.
Healthcare services went for a toss for some time with the disruption of power supply.

While negotiating with the blackout, relatives and attendants of patients switched on their mobile phone lights to help doctors and medical staff carry on their duties.

Both patients and their attendants had a lot of difficulty while groping in the dark to locate their medicines and articles, it was alleged.   

Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Dulalsen Jagdev said, "Power supply was disrupted for only 20 minutes, not an hour. A new waiting room is getting ready for people. At that time, the power was disconnected to electrify the facility.”
