Odisha Television Network's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing, OTV Cares has taken up the initiative to make women from the economically backwards sections self-reliant through free skill training.

As a part of this initiative, OTV Cares started a free tailoring training centre for the girls on the premises of Centurion University at Jatani in Khordha. This OTV Cares initiative, which was successfully launched last year, has entered its second year.

As many as 25 women chosen from various part of Odisha were imparted free training on tailoring. OTV Cares is bearing all the costs of accommodation and food for the trainees.

Significantly, the initiative has provided a golden opportunity for these women to be self-reliant.

Speaking to the media, Swati Swarupa Sahu, one of the trainees, expressed her happiness for being selected for the skill training.

“I am happy for this training programme. I have to build my future and want to supplement the incomes of my parents. I want to keep my parents happy,” she said.

Another trainee Tejaswini Mohanty was happy about her selection and said, “From advertisements, I came to know about this training provided by OTV Cares. I was interested in tailoring.”
