OTV Cares: School in Khordha gets new lease of life after much-needed modernisation works

Odisha Television Network's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing OTV Cares extended its helping hand to modernise the school building of Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Sarua in Khordha, giving it a new lease of life.

Established in 2012, the school had many infrastructural problems, including the absence of a boundary wall causing several problems for students. Taking cognizance of the same, under the OTV Cares initiative, construction of a boundary wall was done.

Apart from the boundary wall, two gates and a mandap were also constructed in the school by the CSR wing. Sweets were distributed among the students during the inauguration of the boundary wall.

"OTV has also constructed an office room for school staff. Students were facing problems due to a pond nearby. The boundary wall resolved the issue and provided much-needed safety for the students. There was no stage for the students to congregate and perform dance and other activities. They gave us a mandap which resolved the issue as well. I extend my hearty gratitude to OTV Cares for doing so much for our school,” said Anjali Rout, a teacher at Sarua Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir.

It is pertinent to mention here that OTV Cares had previously undertaken many developmental works in the school.
