Low-pressure likely tomorrow, depression to trigger heavy rainfall; check IMD’s forecast for Odisha, West Bengal

A cyclonic circulation lies over the Southwest Bay of Bengal coast and a low-pressure area is very likely to form under its influence on May 22, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per the latest IMD forecast, the system is very likely to move northeastwards and concentrate into a Depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal by the morning of May 24, 2024. It would continue to move northeastwards and intensify further thereafter.

Heavy Rainfall Warning:

Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over North, and South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur districts of West Bengal and Balasore district of Odisha on May 25.

Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Mizoram, Tripura and South Manipur on May 25.
