IMD predicts heavy rainfall, orange warning for 4 Odisha districts

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of the State.

An ‘Orange Warning’ for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati in the next 24 hours.

“Yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha north Andhra Pradesh Coasts persists,” said IMD.

Orange warning (be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Ganjam, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Day-2: Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 09.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 10.07.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day-3: Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 10.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 11.07.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Day-4: Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 11.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 12.07.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated):Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Kandhamal.

Day-5: Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 12.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 13.07.22)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Bolangir and Bargarh.
