Under anticipation of a surge in monsoon current, squally weather with squally wind speed reaching 40-50 gusting 60 kmph is likely over North-west Bay of Bengal and Odisha coast during July 9 to 11, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

At present, a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha north Andhra Pradesh coasts.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri , Koraput , Nabarangpur , Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada in the next 24 hours.

IMD has also issued heavy rainfall alert for several other states.

Yellow Warning ( be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri , Koraput , Nabarangpur , Kalahandi, Kandhamal, , Rayagada, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.07.2022)

Yellow Warning (be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Kandhamal.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 10.07.2022)

Yellow Warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Bolangir,Rayagada.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2022)

Yellow Warning( Be updated) Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Deogarh.
