A low pressure area is likely to form over North and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal around September 6, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation lies over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and another cyclonic circulation lies over East-central Bay of Bengal. As per IMD, several districts in Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning activity in the next 24 hours.

A Yellow Warning has been sounded for the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh and Sundargarh.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is likely in the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh and Sundargarh.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Ganjam, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
