Southwest monsoon has subdued over Odisha with considerable drop in the rainfall activities in the past couple of days.

The three have been admitted to Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where their condition was stated to be critical.

“She was recovering fast when she was in the cabin. Upon admission of the MLA, we were shifted to general ward. As of now, her condition is deteriorating," said the patient’s grandmother, Jema Nayak. 

In protest against the MLA’s arrest, BJP chief whip and Keonjhar MLA Mohan Charan Majhi, Sundargarh MLA Kusum Tete and Talasara MLA Bhabani Bhoi, BJP Deogarh district president Minaketan Pradhan along with party workers had staged a dharna in front of the Deogarh police station on Sunday.

Besides registering a complaint against the MLA, BDO Krushnachandra Dalapati also took the matter up with the district Collector. 

Issuing ‘Yellow Warning’ to the above mentioned districts, the IMD bulletin also states that maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places over districts of interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at a few places of coastal Odisha during next four to five days.  

As per IMD, people in Odisha will get relief from the scorching heat conditions in view of the rain and thunderstorm activities.

Sambalpur Superintendent of Police is expected to brief the media at 12 pm today about how the four accused had executed the crime.

Simultaneous raids were carried out at five places by four teams of the anti-corruption wing comprising officials from Rourkela, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Deogarh. 

The active cases in the State stand at 21,525 as a total of 12,37,976 people have so far recovered from the disease, including 3,624 on Sunday, said I&PR Department data.

With this, the cumulative Covid-19 positive tally in the State has surged to 12,59,405 while a total of 12,15,380 people have recovered from the infection so far.

Among others, lack of road communication and mobile network services have been in the wish list of the residents of the villages under Paraposhi, Jharagogua, Jharamunda, Gandam and Dimirikuda Panchayats in Tileibani block.
