As per the allegations by Behera, the ruling party has been indulged in massive corruption in Pattamundai and Rajnagar blocks in the district. He further alleged that common people are going through ordeal due to the corrupt activities of the administration.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's sudden sartorial leaning towards the lungi, that too before the elections, triggered reactions from BJP leaders on social media, who questioned the motive citing Odia culture, pride and tradition.

Recently in Puri, BJD’s MP candidate, Arup Patnaik was canvassing for votes at Pipili, when he fainted. Patnaik was immediately hospitalised and recovered later.

Jay Panda took out a massive rally in Mahakalapada from Angulai. The rally covered a distance of 20 kms across seven panchayats and villages.
The BJP has fielded its heavyweight and three-time MLA Dilip Ray against BJD’s Sarada Prasanna Nayak. The Congress has fielded Birendranath Patnaik.
