The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance department on Thursday conducted raids on the property of an official of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development (IDCO). Manoj Kumar Lenka, an assistant manager (civil) of IDCO, Bhubaneswar has been accused of amassing disproportionate assets.
Simultaneous raids were carried out on the property of Manoj Kumar Lenka, an assistant manager (civil) of IDCO, Bhubaneswar at several places in Khordha, Puri and Kendrapara districts.
Out of the total 398 vigilance cases registered across the nation in 2021, Odisha Vigilance registered 92 cases.
Searches are underway at Rout's triple-storey building at Kunheipada in Cuttack, his brother Arun Kumar Rout's house in Choudwar, house at his native village in Kendrapara and office in Dampada.
State Vigilance except sensitive and confidential activities undertaken by the department should be brought under ambit of RTI, ordered the court while hearing petitions challenging 2016 order which kept Vigilance out of RTI purview.

The Odisha Vigilance on Thursday seized around Rs 2 crore from the house of Kartikeswar Roul and his second wife Kalpana Pradhan from a flat in Tata Ariana in Bhubaneswar.
Ashish Kumar Dash has purchased a flat worth of Rs 32,30,480 at Shantivaan Society in Belagachia of Cuttack in the name of his wife. He has also bought land at Baripal in Keonjhar district in her name.
Ramesh Chandra Pattnaik, who is posted at Thuamul Rampur police station of Kalahandi district, was apprehended by the sleuths of the anti-corruption unit today evening while accepting the bribe from a person (complainant) to facilitate him in an inquiry.

Separate Vigilance teams led by 5 DSPs, 11 Inspectors and other staff conducted searches at six places, including Khordha, Dhenkanal and Angul districts. The raids (and searches) were carried out on the basis of the search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance in Dhenkanal.
So far, cash over Rs 6.28 lakh has been recovered. More assets are likely to be detected during the raids, said the Vigilance officials.
Sethy and his son had locked themselves inside their houses at Berhampur and Bhubaneswar respectively to evade action and obstruct the Vigilance team from conducting searches. The duo also reportedly showed non-cooperation even after being told about the search warrants.
The assets belonging to the former principal were detected following raids at five places linked to him and his family members in Khordha and Kalahandi districts.
The court ordered framing of charges against the former minister and asked him to appear before it personally on March 15.
