At least 40 passengers were inside the bus when it plunged into the Chenab River gorge, sources said.

The first incident was reported from Koraput where three persons were killed and another was injured after the car, they were travelling in plunged into a gorge on Sunki Ghat near Jodimadeli under Pottangi police limits on early Wednesday morning.

As per initial reports, one of the buses reportedly caught fire during welding and soon the flame not only engulfed the entire bus but also spread to four other buses-two on each side, one after another.  

Out of the total passengers in the bus, 16 were from Kendrapara, two were from Paradip and seven were from Jajpur in Odisha.

A bus coming from Babu Ghat in Kolkata to Odisha's Paradip reportedly caught fire near Kharagpur on Friday night. 

From the AADHAR cards found at the accident spot, it was learned that they were residents of the Sana Biruahan Hata Sahi area. 

To repair the phone, the shop owner removed the battery and placed it on the table. Then there were five customers at the shop.  Before anyone could understand anything, the battery exploded and caught fire.

The videos of the incident were also doing the rounds on social media. In one video, a bus was observed dragging a car, an e-rickshaw, and a bike that it had collided with.

The Range Rover came down from the direction of 120 battalion and hit the two-wheeler at power house square traffic signal. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bike rider duo was thrown of their vehicle on the busy intersection.

As per the report, a total of 5,467 people died in road accidents in Odisha in 2022, registering an increase of 7.6 percent as compared to 2021. 

Two derailed coaches fell on a goods train on an adjacent track. The affected coaches were badly mangled in the collision.

At least 11 persons were killed in a train mishap that occurred between Alamanda and Kantakapalli stations on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border on Sunday.

Today being Kumar Purnima, a festival for girls, Rashmita was making arrangements for the puja. However, she accidentally came in contact with a live wire and collapsed on the ground after suffering shock.  

The three injured were admitted to the local hospital and after later shifted to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital after their condition deteriorated. 

Sandhayrani and her daughter had gone to the village pond to take a bath. When they didn’t return, Sandhyarani’s mother Mini Pradhan went to the pond to check on them.
