The bus named Shree Laxmi was enroute to Choudwar from Deogarh when the driver lost control of the steering wheel and climbed over the divider near Nuapatna.

The mishap occurred on Friday night when more than 50 students from a coaching centre at Daspalla were on their way to Harishankar and Nrusinghanath in Bolangir for a picnic.

In a tragic road mishap, three persons were killed and 13 others were severely injured in a collision between an SUV and an auto-rickshaw at Bijapur Square under Borigumma police limits of Koraput district on Friday. 

As per reports, the bus was en route to Berhampur from Sorada when it collided with the pick-up van near Khadbhaga. Upon getting the news, police and fire fighting personnel reached the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to the Aska hospital.

As per reports, the deceased were sitting on the third railway track which is being laid between Rayagada and Koraput when a test train engine hit them near Singhpur killing them on the spot.

As per reports, the driver lost control of the steering wheel and went over the footpath near the slum behind Odisha Legislative Assembly. The uncontrolled car came to a halt after hitting a wall.

A case has been registered in this connection and a manhunt was launched to nab the absconding truck driver.

A team has been rushed to the accident site near Topkhana area of Kuran-wa-Munjan district, Amiri said.

Following the accident, Basant was shifted to Cuttack-based SCB Medical College and Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

A massive fire broke out at a lubricants depot at Dhamra in Bhadrak on Saturday. In the mishap, lubricants worth lakhs of rupees were reportedly gutted. 

As per reports, the bus bearing registration number OD 33V 3513 was en route to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack when it hit a car from the rear near Barang. While the car was partially damaged in the mishap, the locals detained the bus alleging irresponsible driving by the driver.

A person was killed and five others were injured after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a tractor at Giripali Chhak under Sasan Police limits in Sambalpur district on Tuesday. 

As many as 21 school students were injured, among whom three sustained critical injuries, after the pickup van they were travelling in overturned at Champa Ghati in Gajapati district’s Mohana area on Monday.
