At least four bikers lost their lives in two separate road mishaps in Odisha on Monday. In the first incident, two youths on a bike were killed after their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding tanker on Sambalpur-Deogarh road.

The incident occurred at Cane ghat on Sambalpur-Deogarh road, reports said. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Similarly, two more bikers were killed after their bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle on National Highway-16 near Barchana overbridge in Jajpur district. 

The incident occurred while the two were en route to Chandikhole from Cuttack. The vehicle reportedly ran over the duo after they fell off the bike, crushing them to death on the spot. 

The identity of the two youths is yet to be established. Meanwhile, police have seized the bodies and sent them for autopsy to the Barchana community health center.

A case has been registered in this connection and police have launched a manhunt to trace the unidentified vehicle.
