It has sought applications online for different categories of teachers of district Cadre posts of teachers in government schools under SC &ST Development department and M&BCW department on Monday. 

The proposals got the state government's nod at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary P K Jena on Friday.

A retired Supreme Court or High Court judge will be appointed as the chairperson of the committee in four weeks.

The scheme has three slabs of Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 900. After the hike, beneficiaries in the lowest slab of Rs 500 will receive Rs 1000 and similarly, the other slabs will also see a revision by the same amount. With this hike, the state government has to bear an additional expenditure of Rs 3683 crore per annum.  

In a written reply to a query by BJP member Mukesh Mahaling, Odisha Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Pritiranjan Gharai said a total of 98,348 posts are lying vacant in 41 departments as of January 2024.

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department issued a notification to this effect on Thursday.

The Union Minister said that the Odisha government is taking credit for the rice by hanging posters with state government logo and some photographs of the leaders. Such posters are found at retail outlets and this is sheer deceit which should not be done in a democratic system. 

Admitting the petition of a former student of the school, Sujogya Samantray, the Court has issued the notice.

Union Minister of State for Textiles, Darshana Jardosh pointed an accusing finger at the state government for 'lack of cooperation' for a mega park.

As per the information provided by the State government in the Assembly, as many as 44 retired officials have been reappointed in the Information and Public Relations Department (I & PR Department) and 50 in the Skill Development and Technical Education Department.

BJP leader Rama Ranajn Baliarsingh said that farmers in Odisha are bearing the burden of loans worth Rs 32,700 crore and one in every three persons is poor in such an agrarian economy.

BJP leader Manmohan Samal said the state government has failed in various fronts and people are now discussing the failure.

The computer-based test under the recruitment drive to fill up 20,000 posts will commence on November 3, 2023.

The skill test of the OSSSC Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) and Junior Assistant and the OSSC accountant exam are scheduled on the same day- October 6, 2023.
