The mishap was reported from Tulasipalli area under Bhanjanagar Police limits of Ganjam district. While two persons died on the spot, the injured were rescued by locals and hospitalised.
Tension erupted in the area following the mishap. Angry locals launched a tyre-burning agitation on the National Highway 57 protesting the deaths and seeking compensation.
