Two children met their watery graves after they fell into a well near their house at Natakata village under Madhu Sahu Patna panchayat in Dhenkanal on Sunday. 

In a shocking incident, a five-year-old boy was charred to death in a fire mishap at Badapada village in Kendrapara’s Pattamundai on Thursday. 

In the first accident, 15 persons were injured after a pickup truck they were travelling in lost control and overturned near Katarkela in Titilagarh block under Bolangir district this morning.

As many as 17 people lost their lives in separate road accidents on Friday when the state was observing the first day of the zero fatality week. 

The van with 20 persons on board was on its way to Maa Tarini shrine in Ghatagaon from Digapahandi in Ganjam when the mishap occurred.

In a tragic road mishap, three persons were killed after the bike they were on had a head-on collision with a car at Subalaya Square under Dasapalla Police limits of Nayagarh district on Saturday. 

As per reports, the cement-laden tipper carrying over 12 labourers was on its way to Jodamba from Chitrakonda when the mishap occurred.

All three were rushed to the local hospital where two were declared brought dead. The condition of the injured person is stated to be critical during the filing of this report.

Two persons were killed while six others were critically injured after a tractor in which they were travelling in overturned in Ganjam district on Tuesday. 

As per reports, the family from Bhadrak was going to Puri in an auto-rickshaw to avail darshan of Lord Jagannath when the mishap occurred.

Tragedy struck as a girl aged about 10 went missing in a river while taking a bath with her cousin sister at Rama Patna village under Sadar police limits in Kendrapara on Friday. 

Thirty six people were killed and 19 injured in the Doda road accident.
