Kandhamal: Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of advocate Hemant Sahu who was axed to death on Tuesday morning. According to sources, the two persons have been identified as Banamali Sahu and Kiranarba Sahu.
Earlier yesterday, police had arrested four persons in connection with the case.
Raising voice against the murder and police inaction, lawyers across Odisha observed a ‘protest day’ yesterday and judicial activities across the State remained paralysed.
It’s worthwhile to mention here that Hemant was axed to death at Bahira village under Baunsuni police station in Boudh district on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place when Sahu, who was a former block president of BJP, was on a morning walk. Unidentified miscreants attacked him from behind and fled the spot. Profusely bleeding the lawyer died on the spot.
Police suspect previous rivalry over a land dispute to be the motive behind the murder. The deceased lawyer was a prosecution witness in the 2004 murder of his uncle.
