Braving the heat, wives of some candidates are venturing out of the four walls of their houses and hitting the campaign trail to garner votes for their husbands.

This time, Akash Das Nayak, the actor-turned-politician, is contesting on a BJP ticket from the Korei Assembly seat. Amidst heightened campaigning, his wife Subhrajyoti, wearing a BJP scarf and carrying a bunch of cards, was seen rushing about on the streets of Vyasanagar seeking votes for Nayak. 

Subhrajyoti said, "I am urging everyone to vote for my husband, the son of the soil.”  

In Koraput, Congress MP candidate, Saptagiri Ulaka is being accompanied by his wife Pooja Ulaka on the campaign trail. 

Pooja Ulaka said, "As the wife, I have my duties to support my husband and seek votes for him. People want to bless him. He will definitely win this time.”

For veteran Congress leader Taraprasad Bahinipati, his wife Minakshi Bahinipati has been a star campaigner in the Jeypore Assembly seat. Minakshi is visiting all households pleading for votes for her husband. 

Taraprasad said, "I will not rope in star campaigners for me. My wife is my heroine and I am the hero.”  

In the Bolangir Assembly seat, Meghna Rana Singh Deo, the daughter of Nepal’s king and wife of BJD candidate Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, was seen together with her husband during campaigning. She was prominently present everywhere – at meetings, at the nomination and door-to-door campaigning.    

Meghna Singh said, "I am urging people to bless Kalikesh so that he would work for the development of Bolangir.”

In the same seat, Pallabini Panigrahi, the wife of BJP candidate Gopalji Panigrahi, is canvassing for her husband. 

Pallabini Panigrahi said,” I have been seeking votes for my husband after he was given a ticket by the BJP.”  
In Boudh, Snehalata Pradhan, wife of BJP candidate Saroj Pradhan, is leaving no stone unturned while seeking votes for her husband. 

Snehalata said, "Regardless of the blazing sun, I visit houses seeking votes for my husband.”

In the Birmaharajpur Assembly seat, Bishnupriya Behera has been canvassing for votes for her husband and BJD veteran Padmanabha Behera. 

Bishnupriya said, "I am visiting villages and know their problems. Many facilities have been put in place.”
