The Chief Minister has immovable properties worth Rs 57 crore, including the Naveen Niwas building and land worth Rs 13.66 crore and his house at Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi worth Rs 43.36 crore.

BJP’s state president Manmohan Samal and Vice President Golak Mohapatra also joined Union Minister Dhermendra Pradhan in attacking BJD over its leader VK Pandian’s statement.

During his visit to Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple on Tuesday, Patnaik told media persons, "I have received a proposal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest from here. Besides, local people are pleading with me to contest elections.”

In two of the four LS seats, party candidates were in second position. In Berhampur, the BJP’s vote share increased to 35.26 per cent in 2019 from 17.54 per cent in 2014. In 2014, the BJP’s vote share was 7.72 per cent in Aska, but it increased by 26.81 per cent to 34.33 per cent in 2019.
