BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal alleged, “The 5T was an undemocratic system and it was a political programme. The Election Commission of India has deemed it a political programme and took action. Rs 500 crore was spent for 5T publicity and Rs 50 to Rs 60 crore was spent towards helicopter rides.”

RTI activist Pradeep Pradhan termed Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda's statement on RTI copy relating to the deployment of 74 police personnel for the security of 5T Chairman VK Pandian as unfortunate. 

The party has also sought an answer from the Chief Secretary in this regard.

Responding to the development, RTI activist Prakash Das said that a forensic examination of the letter should be conducted to ascertain its authenticity.

BJP leader Surath Biswal said, "The safety of the common people is in a deplorable condition because of the shortage of security personnel. The security personnel engaged for VK Pandian are taking salaries from the state coffers.”

In a startling revelation, 74 police personnel are engaged in the security of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian and it costs an average of Rs 3 crore per year.

Their Delhi visit has strengthened the possibility of the talks between the two parties which are believed to be going on clandestinely. They are likely to carry forward talks on alliance and seat-sharing ratio with the top leadership of the BJP. 

During the recent interview, 5T chairman VK Pandian made some claims which were countered by Ruben Banerjee, the senior journalist who has penned the biography of Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
