A rare and ancient Jain Tirthankara sculpture from the 7th or 8th century was discovered on the banks of Baitarani river in Odisha's Bhadrak district. Locals found the half-buried idol and informed researcher Bisambhar Rout. The statue, though damaged, displays 24 inscribed Tirthankaras.

A distressing video from Chandbali, Odisha showing a woman being assaulted and dragged by policemen has gone viral. Despite recent directives from the Chief Minister for better police services, this incident highlights severe misconduct. An investigation is underway.

The deceased and the injured persons belong to a family. The critically injured were said to be a woman, her mother-in-law and the driver of the car. They were travelling in a car from Goa to Howrah, preliminary reports said.

In an unfortunate and tragic incident, an elderly couple is forced to stay in a hospital as the alleged torture from their son was unbearable for them.

Irked over the development, relatives of the patient have demanded a probe and stern action against the concerned nurse.
