The anti-corruption agency has detected assets worth over Rs 2 crore following searches at the properties and establishments linked to Nayak at six places in Cuttack, Puri, Jharsuguda, and Ganjam districts.
The raids began on Friday following allegations that Patra has acquired assets which are disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Senior officials of the anti-corruption wing said that simultaneous searches were conducted at six places linked to the official in Khordha, Gajapati, Ganjam and Koraput districts.
The recovery of Rs 1.13 crore cash from a government servant’s residence is one of the biggest cash seizures made by the Vigilance directorate so far. Sources said the unaccounted cash was stashed in three to four bags inside the doctor's residence.
