Youth arrested for duping parents of medical aspirants of Rs 60L

Bhubaneswar: A youth was arrested for allegedly duping parents of medical aspirants of Rs 60 lakh on the pretext of helping the candidates of getting admissions in a private medical college against the reserved seats.

Source said the arrested person, Swarup Rout, told the police that he has been doing this business for past two years.

A racket is involved in the whole act and two members of it are absconding, the source added.

The parents of two candidates had lodged an FIR at the Khandagiri police station as their children was not allowed to take admission in the private college as promised by Rout in return of advance payment of Rs 60 lakh.
