Poverty-stricken woman sells infant son for Rs 2,000
Kendrapara: Driven by abject poverty, a woman of Kendrapara town handed over her infant son to a woman neighbour in return of an assurance to get Rs 2,000.
Mother of the infant boy, identified as Gita Murmu of Bhramaradiapatna in Kendrapara, told newsmen she was unable to take care of her one-day-old baby due to pity financial condition.
The mother of the infant works as a labourer on daily wage basis to earn a living and has a 12-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son as well.
The mother of the infant added her husband had left her alone long back.
