Over 15 tourists were stranded in the middle of a dam in Balasore district on Monday after a makeshift bamboo raft they were being ferried on fell to pieces.
Tragedy struck several families on the last day of 2023 as two persons killed and four reported critical in separate road accidents in Odisha.
All the injured have been rushed to Bangiriposhi hospital. Around 20 police personnel were travelling in the vehicle when the accident occured.
A woman and her sick one-and-a-half-year-old nephew suffered critical injuries after an ambulance allegedly hit them inside the new district headquarters hospital at Gelpur in Bhadrak on Sunday.
Prahllad Nayak, a resident of Purunapani died in an accident on December 7. Police were clueless about the death. The family members of the deceased brought the body from the hospital and later buried it. The post-mortem of the body was not conducted.
As per reports, Kari and Jagannath were going on a bike from Junagarh to their village. As they neared Chilakpur under Junagarh police limits, a private bus coming from Kalampur towards Cuttack hit the bike from the rear. The two died on the spot.
Two persons were killed while six others were critically injured after a tractor in which they were travelling in overturned in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
