2 dead, 6 critical after tractor overturns in Odisha’s Ganjam

In a tragic incident, two persons died while six others were critically injured after a tractor in which they were travelling in overturned in Patrapur area under Talagulandi block in Ganjam district on Tuesday. 

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. 

According to sources, the victims along with others were en route to a political programme in the tractor when the driver lost control over the steering and the tractor overturned. 

Two persons got trapped under the tractor and died on the spot. Six other passengers sustained critical injuries in the mishap. The onlookers rushed the injured to a hospital.

On being informed, the police reached the spot, seized the bodies and initiated a probe into the matter.
A pall of gloom descended on the area following the accident. 

Earlier in the day, two members of a family died while five others were injured after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a truck on the National Highway near Sharma Hotel under Jajpur’s Panikoili block.

The deceased included a 12-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.
