Nitish Kumar pays tributes to Rabi Ray, scheduled to meet Naveen
Bhubaneswar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today. The meeting would be held at Naveen Nivas, the official residence of Patnaik at around 5 pm.
Kumar had arrived in the state in the afternoon to pay tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker Rabi Ray, who passed away while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital on Monday. Ray died of prolonged illness at the age of 91.
While speaking to media persons, Kumar said, “Rabi Ray had a great role in socialist movement. He had also played a historical role as LS Speaker. We cannot forget his contribution to Indian politics. His demise is a great loss to the nation.
Earlier Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also paid rich tributes to the departed soul of the firebrand socialist leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Rabi Ray.
Apart from Patnaik, several others leaders of various political parties also paid their tributes to the departed soul today.
