Satyasai Enclave in Khandagiri Declared Containment Zone  

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday declared Satyasai Enclave in Khandagiri of Bhubaneswar as a containment zone following detection of several Covid-19 positive cases. The civic body said the enclave in Plot No-HIG-II-61 of Lane 3 has been declared containment zone in larger public interest and to contain further spread of COVID-19. “It is necessary to make the affected area as a containment zone and to restrict public from entering into and going out,” the BMC said. No public will be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants will not be allowed to move out. All the shopping establishment in the area will be closed immediately. All the government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone also closed. The BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the inhabitants in the containment zones.

Akshaya Patra Foundation Building Sealed In Puri

The district administration of Puri on Thursday sealed a building belonging to Akshaya Patra Foundation located along Badadanda (grand road) for alleged violation of restrictions enforced during the annual Rath Yatra on July 12.

Some ISKCON devotees alleged witnessed Rath Yatra on the rooftop of the building which was banned by the administration.

"The foundation had accommodated devotees from outside Odisha in violation of prohibitory order passed by the administration during Gundicha Yatra. A team verified the video footage of the incident and found the allegations true. We are also verifying other allegations and take action accordingly,” informed Puri sub-collector Bhabataran Sahu. 

A lodge was sealed by the administration yesterday for a similar offence.
