The Education Department in Odisha has formally initiated the process for accepting online applications from the intending higher secondary schools/junior colleges for an increase in the number of seats for admissions into Plus II classes for academic session 2021-22.

The initiative by the State Government will ensure that the students who have passed the Class 10 examinations will not face any problem while seeking admission for further studies.

In this regard, the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on Wednesday invited online applications from the desirous higher secondary schools and junior colleges. In the notification, the Directorate informed that the government has accorded permission for inviting online applications from Plus 2 colleges, having the requisite infrastructure, for an increase in the number of seats.

According to the notification, the applications will be invited through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal (www.samsodisha.gov.in) for seven days from the seeking Higher Secondary Schools, starting from Wednesday.

Earlier on June 28, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash had assured smooth and hassle-free enrolment at higher secondary schools and technical institutions amid apprehension of scarcity of seats among the Class 10 students.

“No students would suffer due to scarcity of seats,” the Minister had said.
