“The Crime Branch is investigating the case and after the agency gives its final report, we (family) will be able to say something,” said Dipali.
Panda, who joined the party’s protest in front of Raj Bhavan over the deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha, asked ‘who is actually running the government in Odisha’ and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as ‘it has now become clear that the CM is not running the government’.
According to DG Prisons, Manoj Kumar Chhabra, Gopal himself had sought the transfer and made the request before the court.
Pujari also said that the Odisha government is taking help of the Centre only for conducting the Narco analysis and polygraph test of the accused. But the government is afraid of a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
While speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a function held in Bhubaneswar, Patnaik, who joined the Congress party recently said, “From the videos whatever I have seen, I believe that the ASI might not have killed minister Naba Das.”
With the clock ticking, all eyes are now on the Crime Branch investigating the sensational case of the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Das.
Das was brought to Raipur from Gandhinagar via air and then he was taken to Jharsuguda via road amid tight security. At present, he is lodged at the Airport police station located at Talapatia, sources informed.
As per reports, Gopal’s vitals were checked and blood pressure, sugar were monitored before taking him for the Narco test. Sources said, Das remained unconscious for quite some time after the test.
The Union Minister also raised questions over the ongoing Crime Branch investigation into Naba Das murder.
With the Crime Branch reportedly not being able to solve the mystery as to why now-dismissed ASI Gopal Das killed health minister Naba Das, the leader's supporters and well-wishers demanded CBI enquiry.
The investigating agency had taken Gopal to Gujarat on February 8. Today it conducted the Polygraph test on the accused at the forensic lab in Gandhinagar. Further, narco-analysis will be conducted.
While 11 days have passed after the gruesome murder of Naba Das at Brajarajnagar, the Crime Branch (CB) is yet to make any headway in ascertaining the exact motive behind the murder, despite accused Gopal Das confessing to his crimes.
Speaking to reporters, BJP State General Secretary, Prithviraj Harichandan said, “Law and order in the State has reached a dangerous situation. Common man is clueless about safety and security.”
The condolence meeting was held at the Sarabahal school ground to observe deceased Naba Das’ 12th day ritual. Huge number of supporters and political bigwigs including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended the event.
Taking up the petition for hearing, the court today said it will be ‘too early’ to hand over the case to the central probing agency.
