The latest theory doing the rounds is the involvement of coal mafia of neighbouring states who may have eliminated Naba Das through Gopal Das.
Adding fuel to the ongoing political slugfest, Union Minister Arjun Munda on Saturday slammed the Odisha government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and termed the killing of Das unfortunate.

Accused Gopal Das' remand has been extended by four days by Jharsuguda JMFC following an application by the Crime Branch.

Subhendu Pattanayak, an eyewitness to the gruesome killing of the Minister, said, “Accused ASI Gopal Das was earlier posted at Belpahar police station. I have known him since then. On that day, he was at the spot in uniform. We had a formal chit-chat for around 15 minutes.”
Jharsuguda SP Rahul Jain has been transferred and attached to the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack. In his place, Bargarh SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas has been appointed as the SP of Jharsuguda.
