The Brajarajnagar JMFC court in Jharsuguda on Wednesday granted 4-day remand of accused Gopal Krushna Das to the Crime Branch in the sensational Naba Das assassination case. The court allowed the Crime Branch to take Gopal, the lone accused in the alleged murder of the Health Minister, on 4-day remand for further questioning.

Meanwhile, a team from the investigating agency also visited Badmal police station in Jharsuguda to inspect the vehicle carrying the late minister during the unfortunate incident. A forensic expert team examined the vehicle that was found to be hit by a bullet.

On the other hand, Gopal has so far shown no sense of remorse or repentance. He was seen walking confidently and composed while being taken to the court.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Government on Tuesday also suspended Naba Das’ PSO Mitrabhanu Deo. The suspension comes a few days after the health minister’s brutal murder.

Similarly, Brajarajnagar IIC Pradyumna Kumar Swain was also transferred to Sambalpur district police headquarters while Gandhi Chhak outpost in-charge SI Sashibhushan Podha was transferred to Subarnapur district police headquarters.

A day back, Jharsuguda SP Rahul Jain and Brajarajnagar SDPO Gupteswar Bhoi were transferred. Jain has been transferred to the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack while Bargarh SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas has been appointed in his place as the SP of Jharsuguda.

Similarly, Brajarajnagar SDPO was transferred to the State Police Headquarters while Athamallik SDPO Chintamani Pradhan replaced him as Brajarajnagar SDPO.
