BJP national Vice President Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Naveen Patnaik government over the ‘lawlessness’ in the State and demanded resignation of the Chief Minister.

Panda, who joined the party’s protest in front of Raj Bhavan over the deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha, asked ‘who is actually running the government in Odisha’ and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as ‘it has now become clear that the CM is not running the government’.

“There is no law and order in Odisha; it has collapsed completely. Crime against women is on the rise. Surprisingly, many ministers and MLAs of the ruling party are involved in crimes against women. But, no action is being taken against them,” the BJP National VP alleged.

Coming down heavily on the Odisha government over Minister Naba Das’ assassination, Panda said, “Who shot the minister dead is one thing, but, who is the conspirator? Efforts are being made to suppress the motive behind the murder and no action is being taken to identify the real conspirators who had ordered to kill Naba Das.”

“When our party president JP Nadda visited Odisha, he had asked ‘who is running the government in Odisha’… As it is now clear that the CM is not running the government, why is he (Naveen) holding the post? The people of Odisha must ask this question to know who is actually running the government in Odisha, and who is responsible for the complete collapse of law and order situation in the State,” said the senior BJP leader.
