A rail coach in Rayagada of Odisha now resembles a small luxury hotel. The Indian Railways has taken up this novel step to generate revenue by reutilizing outdated assets.

The audience was quite amazed while listening to the in-depth speech made by Afiya Basheer, a girl from the remote Therubali area of Rayagada district in Odisha.

After the incident came to the fore, villagers staged a road blockade demanding justice for the victim. According to sources, tension escalated when the police reached the spot and asked the agitating villagers to withdraw their road blockade. 

In another incident, three persons were injured in a cracker explosion during the Vishwakarma immersion ceremony in Dasapalla of Nayagarh district.

The entire village wears a deserted look as already 21 persons have been arrested who had united against Vedanta fearing loss of livelihood and homes. It is alleged that several serious charges including murder and links with Maoists have reportedly been registered against them. Fear prevails in around eight villages under Kashipur police limits. 

As per reports, Samantara was in Rayagada to attend a press meet organised by Youth Congress. But before the press meet started he went missing from the hotel he was staying in.

Rayagada DFO Bijay Kumar Parida's properties at seven locations in Rayagada, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts were raided simultaneously on Thursday on charges of accumulation of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. 

Currently, the officials are carrying out simultaneous raids on the properties of DFO Bijay Kumar Parida at seven locations in four districts including Rayagada and Bhubaneswar in Khordha.

As per reports, nine panchayats will be covered by the Kanya Express in the first phase. This will be expanded further to all blocks in the future. The vehicle has pharmacists and other staff who will carry out many activities in villages including quiz contests.

Following the mishap, the injured were rushed to Jayapatna Hospital for treatment. One injured child from them was later shifted to Bhawanipatna Hospital after he turned critical.

According to sources, the mishap took place when the children were bating under the culvert.  

According to the police, Gouri had a land dispute with Regicheti Krishna’ family. To eliminate Gouri, Regicheti colluded with his brother-in-law Govinda alias GK, friend Akash Kumar Badapu and uncle Daseri Venkat Rao and hatched a conspiracy. 

As per initial reports, over 10 armed Maoists including few women cadres stormed into the crusher unit and later torched two poclain machines, five Hyvas and two loaders.

According to sources, four wagons derailed while the goods train was on its way to Vedanta plant in Lanjigarh from Ambadola in Kalahandi on a special route.

It was certainly a tough time for Harischandra Goud of Rayagada district who lost his son Debashish. Debasish was studying engineering at a private college in Bhubaneswar. The exact reason behind his death is unclear.
