Maoists unleashed terror by ransacking property and setting fire nine vehicles engaged at a crusher unit near Deokupali area under Muniguda police limits in Rayagada district late on Friday night.
As per initial reports, over 10 armed Maoists including few women cadres stormed into the crusher unit and later torched two poclain machines, five Hyvas and two loaders.
The Ultras have left behind posters in which they claimed to have carried out the destruction as the crusher units are attributing to pollution in the region apart from destroying roads and soil.
The Red Rebels have also accused the crusher unit of exploiting the labourers and warned other crusher unit owners of similar consequences if there is no check to such activities. Meanwhile, senior police officials could not be contacted over the damage carried out by the Maoists.
