DA case: Odisha Vigilance brings Rayagada DFO to Bhubaneswar for interrogation 

The Vigilance department has brought Rayagada DFO Bijay Kumar Parida to Bhubaneswar for interrogation. The DFO’s properties at seven locations in Rayagada, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts were raided simultaneously on Thursday on charges of accumulation of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. 

According to the Vigilance department’s press release, Parida’s assets include a G+three-storey building at Srikoruan in Cuttack worth approximately Rs 1.8 crore, one three-storey building at Palasuni, Bhubaneswar, a flat in Ashirbad Plaza at Kalarahanga in Bhubaneswar, 16 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and Jajpur. 

Here is the detailed list of the DFO’s assets unearthed during raids:

1) G+3-storeyed building (under construction) located over Khata No-200/391, Plot No-16/708 at Srikoruan. Cuttack with plinth area of 9,500 Sqft. worth approx Rs 1.8 Crore.

2) A 3-storeyed building at Palasuni in Bhubaneswar with a plinth area of 511 square feet.

3) Flat at Ashirbad Plaza, Kalarahanga, Patia, Bhubaneswar.

4) 16 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and Jajpur. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above flat/ buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

5) Bank, Postal, Insurance and other deposits are being ascertained.

6) Cash Rs 1,24,600

7) Gold jewellery weighing approx 650 gms.

8) 1 four-wheeler (Maruti Swift Dzire) and 2 two-wheelers and household articles worth over Rs.17.87 Lakhs.

The raids were conducted at seven places in Rayagada, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts. The places raided were his residential government quarters located at Gandhi Nagar in Rayagada, his flat on the third floor of Ashirbad Plaza in Bhubaneswar, triple-storey building at Srikoruan in Cuttack, his relative’s house at Srikoruan, another relative’s residential house at Shisu Vihar in Bhubaneswar and his house at his native village Damodarpur under Kalinga Nagar police limits in Jajpur district.
