Some 100 hostel inmates of Ambaguda RSEWC School in Rayagada district on Tuesday walked three kilometers to apprise the district Collector of the problems they are facing in the hostel. 

On November 16, Suneti along with Kartik reached Chandili police station at 3 am and complained that her husband did not return home from his workplace.

Holding placards, the agitators shouted slogans against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and 5T chairman VK Pandian, accusing the latter of hijacking the powers of the people’s representatives.

Acting on a tip-off that deals for leopard skins were underway, the STF officials conducted raids in an area under Chandili Police Station in Rayagada on Tuesday. They arrested two persons along with two leopard skins.

It is alleged that several serious charges including murder and links with Maoists have reportedly been registered against them. Fear prevails in around eight villages under Kashipur police limits.
